Farkha is a Palestinian village located in the Salfit Governorate in the West Bank. Considered Palestine’s first eco-village, it lies approximately 5 kilometers from Salfit city. Its population of roughly 1800 is comprised largely of traditional Palestinian families dependent on agriculture. Spanning 6000 dunums, the village boasts a history stretching back millennia, witnessing significant historical events under various occupations. Farkha’s fertile land and high-quality soil have made it an important agricultural area, renowned for olive and grain cultivation. However, it faces significant challenges due to increasing settlement pressures threatening its cultural and environmental heritage.
